The "weight per foot" signifies the weight of a 1-foot section the respective chain, not the weight a 1 ft section can sustain. For example, if you order 8 ft of a chain that weights 0.25 lbs/ft, the total weight of that chain will be 2 lbs.
The "max load" is the amount of weight a chain can safely hold, regardless of how long it is. When selecting a chain, we recommend calculating the total weight of chain based on the length you need, like in the example above. Make sure that your total hanging weight (= total weight of fixture + total weight of chain) does not exceed the stated weight capacity.

This chain is handmade with solid brass and is comprised of unwelded rectangular links that are connected by solid circular links. Featuring clean vertical lines with gently rounded curves, this chain pairs beautifully with modern lighting and decor. However, this style is so versatile that it complements contemporary, industrial, transitional, and art deco lighting fixtures as well. Since this chain can support up to 50 lbs, it can be used to enhance all sizes of pendant lights and chandeliers without drawing attention from your fixture. The rectangular links are unwelded so the length of the chain can be adjusted as needed - however, this chain must be hung by the circular connecting links, not the rectangular links. The versatility of this chain cannot be overstated: besides use as a decorative lighting chain, BR01-U can also be used to hang indoor plants, picture frames, mirrors, wall decor, and even as curtain ties. Since brass is naturally rust-resistant, it can be used outside to hang flower baskets, wind chimes, outdoor signage, and more.
